Glamorous serenity: the boutique hotel Tortue follows a beautiful idea. It wants to slow down the speed of modern life a little. The name Tortue, which is French for tortoise, alludes to the time of Napoleon. At the beginning of the 19th century, well-dressed dandies and Bohemians strolled along the glamorous streets of Paris and Hamburg accompanied by a tortoise on a lead. The tortoises set the pace, and at the time stood for the sheer luxury of having time. Guests from all over the world should also celebrate this luxury at the Tortue. Here they will find the leisure to sharpen their senses for the essential and the details, to immerse themselves in life, and to discover new perspectives. The overall architectural concept is by David Chipperfield. The hotel’s architecture is characterised by mosaic tiles, vaulted windows, high ceilings and wrought-iron detailing that harmonise particularly well with the frescoes by the French Art Nouveau painter Adrian Karbowsky of 1910.

The British designer Kate Hume was responsible for the interior concept of the 126 rooms, the lobby and the Bar Bleu; the Brasserie was created in cooperation with Stephen Williams. Hume knows that bathroom is the perfect place for winding down completely and simply switching off. That’s why she deliberately designed the bathrooms to reflect the hotel’s guiding principle. This is a place where guests can relax into themselves and experience wellness. The reduced colours in the bathrooms encourage rest. The interior designer opted for glazed titanium steel as the material for the showers and baths, choosing the Ultra shower tray and the Ocean and Lux and Lux Oval Silhouette baths. The result? Contrasting forms and different materials form an architecturally coherent concept overall.

When guests aren’t just here for the apples and blackberries: the Grothues family has transformed the classic Münsterland farm in Senden into modern experience gastronomy It includes a farm café, a pastry shop, a conservatory, a farm bakery, a farm shop and a 4-star hotel. When planning the hotel, architect Eckhardt Scholz followed the design language and materials used for the Baroque style of Westphalian mansions. The combination of red bricks, light sandstone and white divided windows is typical of the region's architectural style that is often referred to as the “Westphalian symphony.” And what else reveals the quality of a hotel? The bathrooms, in the opinion of operator Elmar Grothues. That’s why he opted for our floor-level shower areas, spacious washbasins and free-standing baths in enamelled titanium steel. Not only because natural materials and good design are so important to the Grothues family, but also because they want to offer their guests exquisite quality.

A hotel that is connected to the horizon: Hotel Budersand stands on the southern tip of the holiday island of Sylt. It offers views of the seemingly endless sea. The interiors of the rooms and suites also provide a luxurious atmosphere of peace and mindful enjoyment. As specialists in stylishly designed bathroom elements made of purely natural materials, we perfectly fulfilled the hotel’s claim to combine closeness to nature with exclusive design. The baths were individually adapted to the hotel’s requirements in accordance with the architect’s wishes. So we made baths that were especially deep. Who won’t want to dive straight in!

Modern chic on traditional grounds: the former Grafenschloss Landau is one of the jewels in the small town of Bad Arolsen in northern Hesse. For a long time, the estate was the residence of the counts of Waldeck, and it was rebuilt and extended several times over the years. Most recently, H-Hotels AG lovingly restored the castle with tremendous attention to detail. In October 2017, a charming hotel with 25 rooms opened in the former well house. The guest bathrooms have been furnished with Floor Side shower areas. They don't just look good, but thanks to the frame made of glazed titanium steel, the shower surfaces also effectively protect the historic walls against moisture.
