BOUDOIR BIS BIS

If Daisy were here, she would recognize these chairs. Embroidered peach satin, tasseled, boudoir, stained and frayed, over the garage, now sunflowers, sturdy, raw jute cord trimmed. (She’d remember) the curves, the legs, buttoned and skirted, here for her great granddaughter with Dahlia in her name to remember her by.

Ah! Sun-flower

Ah Sun-flower! weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the Sun:
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the travellers journey is done.

Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in snow:
Arise from their graves and aspire,
Where my Sun-flower wishes to go.
